Equality Objectives

Alfred Sutton Primary School > Statutory Info > Equality Objectives

Equality Objectives 2025–2028

  1. Close the gap for vulnerable learners in attainment and progress
Narrow the gap in Reading, Writing and Mathematics between pupils considered PP or vulnerable and their non-PP/vulnerable peers across all year groups.

  2. Raise attainment of boys in English, especially writing
Reduce the gender gap in writing so that boys’ outcomes are in line with girls. This is in line with the regional challenge to improve boys’ literacy outcomes

  3. Increase attendance and reduce persistent absence for vulnerable groups
Improve whole-school attendance to at least 95% with a specific focus on FSM and other vulnerable groups, and reduce persistent absence for these groups to below 10%, addressing the current bottom-20% attendance risk identified in the standards visit.

  4. Strengthen inclusion and success for pupils with SEND and other vulnerable learners
Ensure that pupils with SEND and those identified as vulnerable (including those at risk of disadvantage but not formally FSM) make sustained progress from their starting points and achieve outcomes comparable with their peers, through accurate small-steps assessment and responsive task design.

  5. Enhance early identification and outcomes in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Secure rapid and accurate assessment in EYFS, ensuring that children with complex needs make accelerated progress from their starting points and that the GLD gap for disadvantaged and EAL pupils is reduced.
