Our school ethos is defined by our overall intent:
Diversity, Inclusivity, Aspiration
Our Foundations and British Values – are taught and reinforced across all aspects of our provision, enabling us to uphold our ethos.
Building a strong base for our schools.
Many of our families will be familiar with our previous Core Values, which have guided our school communities for several years. These values have shaped our ethos and helped us grow a culture of kindness, respect and ambition. Since federating, we now have two schools working closely together — and this has given us the opportunity to create one shared set of principles that every pupil, parent and member of staff can connect with. After listening to pupils, staff and leaders, we’ve developed Three Foundations that bring together the very best of our existing values in a way that’s simple, memorable and meaningful for everyone.
Our Three Foundations
🌍 Diversity We respect and celebrate what makes us all unique.
🤝 Inclusivity We make sure everyone feels welcome and can take part.
🌟 Aspiration We aim high, work hard and keep improving.
These Foundations form the strong base our schools are built on. They guide how we speak, act and learn — in the classroom, on the playground and beyond.
Pupils are already exploring the first Foundation, Diversity, through assemblies and class discussions. Teachers are using Class Charts to recognise pupils who demonstrate the Foundations in their everyday actions. Each week, we’ll celebrate our Foundation Champions in assembly, and at the end of each term, our Foundation Ambassadors will be recognised for consistently living our values.
