We have three positive recognition systems:
Our Celebrating Success system is inspired by our majestic London plane tree that stands in the Foundation Stage garden and which we have artistically represented on our wonderful mural in the Y1 building.
Children learn about plane trees in beginning of year assemblies and are able to recall fascinating facts.
The children never cease to delight us with their mature behaviour and incredibly positive attitudes to learning which we recognise and celebrate with plane tree leaves for effort and plane tree fruits for conduct. We award one of each per class per week.
When pupils gain both their Fruit and Leaf badges, they receive the privilege of the chance to earn a special larger size Celebrating Success badge and accompanying certificate. These are given to pupils as recognition for being all-round role models. These are awarded in phase assemblies to which parents of recipient pupils are warmly invited.
We have six core values that drive our sense of community and support the children understanding fundamental values that will help them succeed.
They are:
1. Respect
2. Resilience
3. Aspiration
4. Responsibility
5. Caring
6. Compassion
At the beginning of each term, the children learn about the value and what it looks like to embody it. They then try their best to put it into action throughout the term and always.
When the adult spots a child demonstrating that value, they are awarded a sticker. Once the child has 6 stickers, they will then be awarded with a badge which corresponds to the value.
These badges are awarded in an assembly to which parents are invited and all the children share in the excitement of the event.
House points are an integral part of our recognition system. Children can be given a house point for a wide range of achievements related to personal development or academic achievement. The children can expect to earn quite a few as they are the most widely-used reward used throughout the school!
We have 4 houses: Hope, Peace, Joy and Honour. The children are allocated a house upon registration at the school. We aim to keep siblings in the same house.
Each half term, the points are counted and the winning house is awarded a non-uniform day.
